France ranks second for capital-risk investments |
A recent study made by Ernest&Young and Dow Jones Venture One places France on second place, after the UK, in terms of capital-risk investments.
The sector registers a 20% rise for investments in start-ups in France. Mounting to 778.5 million Euros, it is the highest figure since 2001, this when the capital risk investments in Europe has not yet reached the level of 2002. These investments have grown only by 5%, (4.12 billion Euros) compared to 2005, which is two and a half times less than in 2001. The figures confirm the tendencies seen in 2005; the French and European investors are concentrating their investments to a limited number of companies. But they are not refusing early investments anymore, which create a new generation of start-ups. Source: Ernest&Young and Dow Jones Venture One
